Parking

  • Street parking is usually available on 2nd Ave. The meters are one hour in front of the building, and for two hours on the other side of the street.

  • Garage parking is around the corner in the Cameron Street Garage. The closest entrance is on Fenwick Lane and 1st Ave.

  • Parking is free on Sundays. Any other day, remember to pay the meter.

  • If you need a more accessible parking space under the building, please let me know in advance and I will try to arrange it.

Public Transportation

  • Silver Spring metro stop on the red line is 0.3 miles away.

    • Exit on the south side of the station, on the other side of Colesville from the transit center

    • Head northeast on Colesville Rd, turn left on 2nd Ave, and office building will be on the right.

    • Heading up 2nd Ave is a long uphill.

  • Bus lines nearby

    • Ride On bus lines 1, 4, 5, 11, 28 stop on 2nd Ave close to the building

    • Ride On bus line 18 stops on Spring St south of 2nd Ave

Layers of protection against airborne contagion

Environmental precautions in my office

  • Air purifier is kept running.

  • Exhaust fan in window improves air circulation.

  • Windows can be opened if needed.

  • CO2 monitor is used to keep ventilation at healthy standards.

  • Visits are spaced at least 15 minutes apart to allow for air re-circulation.

My own precautions

  • I stay up to date with flu and COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters as recommended by the CDC for my age.

  • I take COVID-19 rapid tests weekly whether or not I have symptoms.

  • If I feel sick, I will cancel or offer an online visit.

  • If I have allergy symptoms, I will wear a mask and take a COVID-19 rapid test the day of the session.

Masking

  • You may choose whether or not we wear masks in my office IF

    • you have had a COVID-19 vaccination or booster within the last six months

    • you have no respiratory or allergy symptoms at all.

  • You must wear a mask in my office if you have any respiratory symptoms or do not have a recent vaccination/booster.

  • Masks are optional in the office suite and waiting room that I share with other therapists.

Accessibility

Getting to the office from the street

  • An elevator is available to reach our 3rd floor office. There are no stairs between the sidewalk and the office door.

  • There’s a beveled threshold to enter the office from the elevator.

Within the office suite

  • Door and hallway widths are ADA compliant.

  • There are tight turns to get to the bathroom. Check the office tour video for an idea of how your mobility device will work.

  • The gender-neutral bathroom has grab bars available, but wheelchairs might not fit inside. Check the office tour video if you’re not sure whether it will work for you.

  • All area rugs are low profile.

Other accessibility notes

  • There is no policy on scents in the shared office suite/waiting room, but I do not use scents in my office.

  • The air purifier and exhaust fan in my office create white noise, but can be adjusted on request.

Finding the Office

My building can be a bit of a maze! Here’s how to find me.

The address is 8609 2nd Avenue, Suite 307B

  • Once you’re here, look for the large arch for 8609. Walk under the arch into the private parking area.

  • Elevator 2 will be on your right and a staircase on your left. Take either of those to floor 3.

  • Suite 307B will be on your left as you exit the elevator, or on your right after one flight of stairs.
